Pouch Cell Holder for advanced battery testing
Our Pouch Cell Holder is designed to improve repeatability and expand control of parameters in battery measurements, serving the needs of both research laboratories and industry. This fixture offers a practical solution for testing pouch cells, combining functionality with user-friendly design, enabling consistent, reliable and high accuracy testing across various applications - from experimental research to standardized aging measurements and cycle life estimation.
The Pouch Cell Holder can be operated in two modes: fixed thickness and fixed pressure. The fixed thickness mode is best suited to replicate the cell behaviour in real-world conditions, i.e. as if it was mounted in battery pack. The fixed pressure mode with springs (selected force rates choice), allows to accommodate cell thickness changes and evaluate its performance under stable pressure.
The holder features 4-point Kelvin connection in wide range of distance between tabs, ensuring precise electrical measurements. Alternatively, the holder can facilitate pouch cells with tabs on opposing sides with Opposite Tabs Adapter. Included flexible soft pads accommodate small imperfections and thickness variations, ensuring homogenous force distribution. These features provide platform for diverse pouch cell sizes and configurations, particularly beneficial for prototyping new technologies, like metal anode or solid-state batteries.
Use of aluminium alloy and stainless steel allows for lightweight, compact and robust construction of the jig. The fixture’s straightforward assembly process saves time, allowing you to focus on your research rather than equipment setup. Additionally, its compatibility with our growing range of attachment modules means you can expand its functionality as your testing requirements evolve.
Whether you're conducting long-term cycling tests, short-term performance evaluations, or specialized pressure-dependent studies, this Pouch Cell Holder provides a reliable foundation for your battery R&D efforts. It's the smart choice for researchers and industry professionals seeking a balance of quality, versatility, and value in their testing equipment.
Expand your testing capabilities with our Force Sensor Module attachment. This module enables precise pressure control and in-situ monitoring, crucial for simulating real-world conditions and studying pressure effects on battery performance. The module can be used to set initial pressure and then removed, allowing one module to service multiple holders - a budget efficient solution for labs with multiple testing stations.
